Water Heater Replacement
When it’s time to replace your old water heater it’s important to consider cost, efficiency, and longevity of your new water heater.
At Turek’s Plumbing, we have taken all of those factors in consideration when choosing the water heater manufacturers we work with. Not only do we choose American made equipment but we work hard to offer regular manufacturer training to our installers so that you get the best equipment and installation.
Clients often ask us the difference between a standard water heater and tankless water heater. What are the benefits of upgrading? First, we always say there is nothing wrong with standard water heaters for a residence or business. That said there are some benefits to going tankless in the long term.
Tankless water heaters are often referred to as on demand water heaters. You never have to worry about stepping into a freezing cold shower waiting for the water to warm up. The premise of a tankless is that the water is running through a high-powered burner that heats the water as it runs through a heat exchanger. This delivers your hot water without having it stored in a tank. As you can see (picture) a tankless water heater is much more compact than a traditional one which can be nice for your storage space.
Most importantly, many homeowners love tankless water heaters for their energy efficiency. According to Energy.gov:
“For homes that use 41 gallons or less of hot water daily, demand (or tankless) water heaters can be 24% to 34% more energy efficient than conventional storage tank water heaters.”
Gas Tankless water heaters can save homeowners more than $100 per year in utility bills. Electric tankless water heaters still save homeowners around $44 per year according to the US Department of Energy.
